Antique Mounted Tarantula Golden Beetle in Display Case Butterfly Wings Columbia

Very rare antique mounted tarantula and gold beetle in a wood and glass display case featuring a copper plate marked Colombia with an Aztec figure in another metal. There are three additional Aztec figures spaced in a triangle around the top. The case is about 3" tall and measures about 7 1/8" across the bottom. There is a crack running across the glass panel inset at the top of the case. A ring of glass over an array of iridescent butterfly wings is inset around the top of the case. The clear cylindrical part of the display case appears to be an early form of acrylic. Our best estimate is that this piece was produced in Colombia during the 1930s or 1940s.
