Murano Art Glass Footed Vase with White Trailed Decoration, Mid-20th Century

A striking hand-blown Murano art glass vase in a vivid aqua blue, featuring free-applied white trailed decoration in sweeping, ribbon-like lines across the upper body. The vessel has a large, gently flared cup set on a rounded knop and wide foot, all executed in matching transparent blue glass. The underside displays a finely polished pontil, consistent with Murano workshop finishing practices of the mid-20th century.

The white decorative lines are applied hot in a fluid, expressive manner typical of Venetian glassworking traditions. Our best guess is that this piece was made by Seguso Vetri d'Arte during the 1960s or 1970s.
