Vintage Expressionist Portrait of Woman, Oil on Paper, Inscribed 'ca. 1947'

Original post-war 1940s expressionist oil portrait study on textured paper sheet (removed from an artist sketchbook, with perforated top edge), unframed, measuring 9.75" x 8.75". The work features a centered, vignette-style portrait study of a woman with her chin resting thoughtfully on her hand. The artist uses vibrant, heavily impastoed palette knife and brush applications over raw paper, blending brilliant turquoise blue, plum, yellow, rose, and green tones into the subject's face and halo-like backdrop. The style captures the mood and expressive figuration of European and American post-war mid-century modernism. The front bears a pencil inscription reading "ca. 1947," suggesting a mid-20th-century date, though the inscription's authorship is not established.

Authentic vintage condition showing paper age and studio wear. Executed on heavy textured tan sketchbook paper sheet with perforated top margin. Unframed; shows age toning, minor spotting, and paint smudging along the lower paper margin. Please inspect all high-resolution pictures carefully to evaluate paper aging, margin details, and paint texture.
